I would, if you liked ubuntu, then debian will be easy to work with and it better! For what you'll do with it it will defiantly work really well and stable.Go debian!

Cont..I mainly use the laptop for studenty purposes - Storing/using media, accessing internet wirelessly, into a bit of graphic designing (read:photoshop), video editing(adobe premiere), using the internet (firefox) to watch/download media. I wanted an opinion about whether i should get debian on my laptop.

Question: I've been a windows user all my life, and discovered linux (literally) about 3 years ago, i've dabbled with Kubuntu and Ubuntu a bit, and really loved the stability it offered. My main computer right now is a Dell vostro 1500, which i've been having problems installing ubuntu on, i've finally found a blog that deals with installing debian on it, Do you guys think it's a good idea? any comments would be welcome!

I like linux debian because it has double purpose - desktop PC & Server. Good for my personal and business use. It's worth learning Linux.
