Freecell5671 ~ Note what Bradbury says about his book, Fahrenheit 451 nowadays: he strongly suggests it's NOT about censorship per se. But about how certain books are destroyed when they bother the reader personally. Things the books say to each reader, tho differently, may inflict a certain trouble to the soul and mind. Such a book must be burned. Bradbury suggests 'F451' never has to do with across the board freedom to write anything. But how each reader personally responds to what he reads.

This man is utterly brilliant. F-451, written more than 50 years ago predicts our current world perfectly.

One short story, one poem, two essays, plus a critic of the LA political system in one week? The man had obviously burned out.

then you obviously haven't read one of his novels.

Wow. Thank you for posting this.About 2 years ago, I sent a bday card with a simple note written on the inside cover. I put stamps on it & put it in another SASE addressed to the publisher of one of his books. I enclosed a SASE with the card & said that I'd included the SASE out of good etiquette. I did get a reply - a signed piece of stationery in the sase I'd sent. Something I'll treasure always. His bday is 8/22/1920 - tell him what he means to you while he's still here.Just a thought.

The bit about being slef concious in your writing really hits home with me. Very inspiring.
