Is there one of Leroy Anderson's Chicken Reel? I like that one a lot too!

This was recorded by Leroy Anderson's "Pops Concert Orchestra", 'kelhard' (created especially for his [American] Decca recording sessions in the '50s), and conducted by Anderson himself. The Eastman-Rochester Pops recording, on Mercury, used the same arrangement Leroy created here...

Thank you for sharing the fun song. I love your old Garrard 4HF record player!

This recording sounds alot like the version recorded by Mercury Records for their "Living Presence" series of Hi-Fi recordings in 1957. The Mercury version was conducted by Frederick Fennell and was performed by the Eastman-Rochester Pops Orch.Any chance of finding which ensemble recorded this version? Great sound for a 78!

Those who can't believe the quality of the sound, just listen through earphones. You'll hear the needle drop, and the background noise before the song starts. The sound isn't perfect, but it's indeed nice. I have 78s that sound even better than this one. 78s made in the very end on the 50s sounded terrific.

I'm very sorry Memorex36,but this is not a vinyl record.This is a normal 78rpm record,and it's very breakable,like other 78's!
