Omg! I won one of these as a kid from Burger King of all places! My brother then stole it from me. He was a teenager at the time, and had more records than me.

Yes, Wilkes, but I don't the cartridges fitted to these players helped keep records in good condition, cos they require a lot more tracking weight, we're talking roughly 8grams, compared to today's cartridges which often require less than 2g. So they have difficulty following the grooves accurately. Think freight train attempting slalom ski course! The guy's thumbprint on the record won't help much either!

That unit looks ralativly portable, once folded, it could be transport with some ease. Is it heavy?

I have a 1940's Grundig Fleetwood (that I don't really use) and a late 1970's Lloyd's that gets a lot of use, I really love vinyl

I noticed the same thing. Perhaps a problem with the motor.

excuse me,i have a major problem.im 12 years old so there is not much mechanical work i can do,i have a 1967 RCA solid State Stereo Record Player.3 speed. When you put a record on, the songs are noticeably faster and in a higher key.i have tried using coins, but i would like a permanet fix, is there anything you would recommend?

that needle you tried to use is usually used in kiddie record players, and they destroy records. So does putting pennies on the tonearm. Glad u took those off.Nice unit though!!! I got the same type of record player, but mine's an RCA Victor, retrofitted with a Garrard changer.
