Heroes and lives come in all shapes and sizes. But Randy lived bigger than life and was as brave as anyone I have ever seen. Was it William S. who said, "Let us sit on the ground and tell stories of dead Kings?" I think it was something like that.

You are a true symbol of how powerful an impact one person can make in this world. A teacher, an advisor, a mentor, and an inspiration. In a troubled time, you are one of the real heroes, Professor Pausch.

Thank you, Randy Pausch. I thought I was "done" here on this planet. I am ready to use what you've taught me, and get on with living and contributing.

Farewell Professor Pausch. You were an inspiration to the rest of us, who live in a state of denial of our own tenuous existence.

"When death comes, it's just like winter. We don't say, 'There ought not to be winter'. That the winter season, when the leaves fall and the snow comes, is some kind of defeat, something which we should hold out against. No. Winter is part of the natural course of events. No winter, no summer. No cold, no heat." Alan Watts - Philosopher 1915 to 1973. |
