I think it's going to get to the point where cellphones become modem-like devices and our portable internet devices become the interface.Perhaps the Modem-like device could even sport extra storage, not unlike the iPhone though it's interface and OS would be simpler and it's features less advanced so you could do basic phone/text with it but use your Internet device for all the real stuff. That way, your plan isn't changing every 5 minutes and you have an external drive that could even USB.

Nah I mean internet bandwith. I know it can make a VOIP call, I do it with Skype as well as GrandCentral + Sipp. I don't think the bandwith from a cell phone could support VOIP.

do you mean processor? yes.its basically a mobile version of Skype. Thoughtfix has a video of him making a video call to someone.

Would you really have enough bandwidth for a VOIP call though?

Absolutely, it's a universal machine really. The more advanced the computer the less specialist hardware it needs.

a computer can become everything.

Any internet-connected computer is a phone, if you count Skype or other internet phone services.

if you have a cell phone w/ bluetooth, you can connect to the mobile web and call from Skype. So in a way, it IS a phone =P |
