one hell of a thought provoking film. doc's ideals are romantic, but i can't say i entirely agree with him. its too bad doc didnt help supply the kids with more options for when they grew up. recreation, attitudes of mind, healthy eating habits, and being less detached from the physical world are all vital facets of life, but he shouldnt have restricted them from public schooling. he should have at least given them the option. if doc had been less selfish, his kids would be PERFECT beings.

Our possesions binds us to a material world when the things the mind, soul, and body need are the joys of an unbinding life!

On the Paskowitz Family. I'm sure everyone will scream "cult" and make fun of their fundamentalist religious rituals and Mom having 10 children and attack Dad for not always controlling his temper. People will slander them about "incest" cry "irresponsible parenting!" say Mom breast fed the kids too long, feign horror that the kids heard Mom and Dad having sexThey were inspirational, and you can't argue with the guy's heath advice, or diminish their surfing skills.
