johnners53Yes, 'scottleonardi' is correct. It's no wonder people get misled about this. Clive Langer wrote the tune for Robert Wyatt but was unhappy the lyric he (Clive i.e. I think) had written. So EC wrote a new lyric for the tune. Wyatt released the song (Clive on organ, Elvis backing vocal) first in '82 and EC, although the original writer (with Langer), didn't actually record it until the following year!Both are marvellous renditions of a gre@ song.

Elvis, like many good singer/songwriters, they are made better by a great backing band though seldom does history provide due credit to groups like the Attractions. Elvis' early success owes as much to the group as it does hissongs.

Elvis is the man, but the band is just magnificent here too. I love all the atmospheric touches the each instrument adds. Man, how does Steve get that shimmering effect on the keyboards?!
