in the jewish book of ethics it says plain and simply "the more possessions man has, the more worries he has" (e.g. direct correlation)I do believe that there are definitive advantages and drawbacks of these technological upgrades.. one advantage being that we have more time for other things by using prepackaged and premade products/materials while a disadvantage could be the lack of consistency these choices grant us

Not only was I painting with a broad brush, I was simultaneously casting a wide net, cutting a wide swath, using a cannon to kill a mosquito, knocking down a straw man, broiling a red herring, making a mountain out of a mole hill, throwing the baby out with the bath water, and turing up my amp to "Eleven."

No doubt...in fact, didn't orwell do a movie called the late great planet earth...where he claimed manmade global cooling will freeze us to death? and starvation would result from the (current 70's non-GM) farming inability to feed are growing population.

You paint with a very broad brush...I know of quite a few anti-capitalist who identify with being liberal,,,and BTW also anti-globalization, anarchy, almost anything anti industrial or business related since they wish to return to a simpler working persons paridise...The anti-stem cell types tend to be very religious pro-lifers who would vote for either DEM or GOP based on the abortion issue alone. I think the Business minded GOPers welcome technological progress!
