I agree that playing with emotions doesn't necessarily mean good to hear, but when you're as experienced a player as B.B. King, playing with emotion definitely does help the way he plays.

Playing Blues with emotions doesn't necessarely mean "good to hear". My 4 years old brother can play blues with a lot of feelings, but that sounds horrible. I have to say BB is one of the first real blues man, but I personally hate his sound and I am so tired of his easy licks.

Also have you heard some things from earlier in his career? He had a lot of riffs that not a lot of guys could pull of. This doesn't need to be a competition, so why don't we let Steve Vai do his thing and B.B. do his.

You've got to respect all the emotion he puts into each and every performance. He is a master of the blues, and blues isn't about speed or noise. It's about feeling the music. He is one of the greatest ever at doing just that. |
