Sir Ian McKellen plays another sir in The Da Vinci Code, Sir Leigh Teabing. Tom Hanks says acting opposite McKellan is like being in a gigantic playhouse. Saving Private Ryan was an awesomed film so shut the hell up. And he's an awesome actor. And Castaway is brilliant and was oscar worthy.

yup you are totally right.personally I think forrest gump was his best performance yet, but thats only because he hasnt had any other performances that seen harder to act than that one. But still all his movies are great.oh and to the guy under my last comment, if ull ever read this: castaway was totally worthy of an oscar because its not easy to talk to yourself and to a ball the whole time in movie

I'm not a film critic to judge his acting and I never said that he's a bad actor. On the contrary, I respect his career. I just don't like him! And I do think that some of his performances were not oscar worthy, like "Castaway". PS: I don't think that "Save Private Ryan" was a brilliant film either. Just a personal opinion...
